Background
Spean Bridge Community Centre (Village Hall) was built in 1980 and has become a vital asset to the community. It is owned and run by the people of Spean Bridge. Over the years a team of committed volunteers have given their time, practical skills, energy and enthusiasm to maintain and upkeep the hall. The hall relies on income from lettings throughout the year in order to meet its running costs. The income from letting is supplemented by money raised from annual fundraising events and over the years improvements and upgrades have been made to the building and the facilities.
The Hall committee were successful in an application to the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund in 2016 and with this grant the hall has benefited from new LED lighting, double glazed windows as well as loft and external wall insulation. We are grateful to local residents, businesses and the Pebble Trust for their donations towards a renewable heating system to be installed May/June 2018.
